We believe that God has created us, and sustains us in our daily lives. He has spoken to us, first through the prophets and then through the incarnation of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. In our baptism, we received the gift of the Holy Spirit–faith in Christ and His Gospel of the forgiveness of sins. We believe that where there is forgiveness of sins, there is also life and salvation.

We believe that Jesus’ crucifixion outside the city gates of First Century Jerusalem defines our life, our purpose, and our destiny. Christ died on the cross for our trespasses and rose for our justification.  “God has made Him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom [we] crucified” (Acts 2:36b). His resurrection is living proof that Christ has conquered sin, death, the devil, and our sinful selves once and for all. “Peace be with you, your sins are forgiven” is His resurrection message. In Him, this Word is the  final judgment.  That’s it.

Augsburg exists as a fellowship of confessors, preachers, chapters, and churches to see to it that Christ’s Gospel is proclaimed into all the world. That all may come to believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and have salvation in Him and His Gospel of forgiveness.

We welcome you to join us in this mission until Christ comes again.

Our Mission

is to bear witness to the good news that sinners are put right with God by faith alone in Christ alone.  We resist any corruption of this Gospel, and exist to serve and support fellow confessors who seek to do likewise. Looking only to the cross of Christ, we proclaim God’s Word as Law and Gospel for the redemption of his people today. May God help us to the glory of His holy name. Amen.

For people who are interested in looking at more formal documents, we have enclosed links to our official and historical documents. We hope to add more to the website for those who are interested in the Reformation, church history, and theological study.
